Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th saw our 19th annual club competition take place in Bletchley, Milton Keynes and what a weekend it was. The event sponsored by the Engineering Quest was deemed by all that attended as a superb weekend despite clashing with a certain football match.
Saturday we had the younger gymnasts at the club show parents, Grandparents Aunty’s and Uncle’s what they have been working on the past 6-weeks. With medals and sweets for all the gymnasts, it was lovely to see parents and gymnasts leave with big smiles.
Tea’s, coffee’s hot dogs, sweets, and cakes were on sale for both days. All profits made go back into the charity whether this is towards new equipment or towards the general upkeep of the facility, it all helps to keep our facility in the best possible condition. Door entry reached £1,300 and about £400 cleared funds over the counter for refreshments was taken.
Sunday saw the more advanced recreational gymnasts compete followed by the squad gymnasts. For all the coaches and staff you saw across the 2 days, they have all volunteered their time to help with not just their gymnasts, but other groups too, making sure the days ran smoothly and were on time (especially for the Sunday).
You can still purchase any photos that DE Photography took of your gymnast on the day. All the details you need to access the photographs can be found in reception.
Head coach Al was particularly pleased as this event was organised and run by Hannah Bond for the first time and coming directly on the back of the of National Roses event, both were worried that they may have overlooked something or made an error.
Their fears, in the end, were unfounded and the feedback over the two days has been all positive. Trying to please everyone on such a wide scale event is never going to be possible, but it appears it was reached and ahead of time too!. The trustees would like to thank Hannah and the whole team behind her for making such a success for all the children who took part. Well done gymnasts and well-done parents for your support of this charity and a huge thank you to the Engineering quest for their continued support.
