Sunday April 22nd saw five of Arabian’s top gymnasts travel to Spalding Gym club and compete in the annual Indi competition.
First up was Lyla and Tallulah, competiting agaist 40 other competitiors from across the country they had stiff competition.
Tallulah came out on top taking gold on floor bars and beam and a second placing on the Vault. Keeping her cool on the day, Tallulah showed she has matured as a gymnast and a competitor and can now relax and enjoy competitions, something that not all gymnasts are able to do. Lyla came away with 2 gold medals on the day for her artistic floor and powertful vault. Unfortnatley falls on both bars and beam cost her an overall medal, placing in 15th.
Second up saw Bella, Alysha and Kyla take to the stage.
Even with an unfortnate fall on the beam Bella still came away with a bronze medal for her performance as well as a bronze for her vault. Alysha managed to keep her nerve, something she has previously struggled to do and got gold for her bars and beam routines. Stong tumbles and a powerful vault didn’t quite get her a medal and she placed just outside the medals for these 2 events.
Our eldest competitor Kyla took gold on floor and silvers on bars, beam and vault. A fall on beam cost her the gold medal, but she still kept her cool and showed her expereince by supporting her team mates.
Coach Hannah said
” All the gymnasts performed brillantly and showed what they are capable of, even if it doesn’t go right on the day you have to pick yourself up and carry on with the rest of the competition. Thank you to Wendy who has choreographed and enhanced the girls floors, to have 3 gold medals out of 5 is truly amazing.”
