The High Beamers class is run on three evenings a week and is an weekday alternative option to the weekend classes of two hours called the Tricksters.
The club has A Bars Balance beams, Climbing ropes, Vaulting table and vault set ups, a ten metre Fast track where upon they learn rebound like on a trampoline.
They also have a 6 metre airbed to try things like round off and Cartwheels on as well as the full Olympic gymnastic sprung carpeted floor area. Like all classes they get the opportunity to do Certificates and badges as well as the very popular Arabian rosette scheme where each individual move is equalled with a colourful rosette which they may collect once earned.
Rope climbing and Peg board climbing are two favorites for the kids to also try out. Being a two hour class the elements the gymnasts will try to master somewhat harder moves that they would perhaps do within a one hour class. Having said this, any gymnast who struggles will be catered for and she will be given moves reachable and not told to perform out of her depth.
The main point of all our classes is for the gymnast to firstly enjoy trying to do well at the sport. Then it’s about getting stronger, more flexible but all within their boundaries. High Beamers was originally just once a week but is now a huge favorite being run on three days now. As we often state some of our team are young coaches but please do not think for one moment this means they are not knowledgeable.
Most are from within the clubs structure and they are teaching because ithey enjoy the sport, and have been a competitive gymnast and have experienced all levels. They have a lot to offer the children and develop a lovely rapport.
