Welcome to Arabian …
The club is predominately a girls gymnastics club, but many boys attend in recreational classes and pre-school. Only up at the higher competitive level does the club not deal with Boys.
The club was formed in April 1999 by when it had just 39 children being taught on a Saturday morning in what was the Old 30 year old centre. Slowly he set out to build up the club and get it established as a more substantial club.
By September 1999 he had negotiated with the MK council to allow him two further evening slots and so he set about developing the club, as time went on he ended up with every evening and developed pre-school in daytime in what was a hall left empty all day.
Over the next 10 years he turned the hall into a self contained gymnastic hall with the backing of MK council and built the club and its coaching volunteers to a situation that saw over 800 children a week attending and nearly 30 volunteers and staff. Investing close to £90k all funds raised and donated, were streamed back into the club.
The old dirty dingy hall that the club used to hire, Alan set out as his mission to turn into a colourful and bright facility that people would come to love. The club soon got a good name and started to create champions within the sport.
When the plan for the present new centre was discussed Alan was fortunate enough to be involved with the concept in its early stages due to the good name and popularity of the club he had built up with Donna and the loyal and sincere staff and coaches.
He managed to ensure that the club had like for like, but with a few improvements thrown in. Paul Sanders of Milton Keynes council ensured that the club and its gymnasts had everything they could need to not just to continue but to flourish even more. Alan with wife Donna alongside him have become a strong unity making sure that the club is always trying to improve and never accepting today's success as tomorrows programme.
TODAY
Arabian is now housed within this new Bletchley Leisure Centre, Buckinghamshire England. A state of the art facility, the gym has its own place which is 23 metres by 15metres. The club designed the facility to be small, as bigger facilities tend to be more scary for children and a great deal more difficult to oversee. At Arabian the Head Coach or manager on duty can easily cover the whole gym without even raising her/his voice.
The club has a family run atmosphere to it, where coaches regularly interact with parents and give feed back on how their child is doing. The coaches are teaching the children because that’s what they want to do, not because they may get financial rewards if they do so. Everyone is treated equally what ever their status, what ever their title, no one person is bigger than the club.
We have our own secured reception area and bathroom with changing area. The club has paid for double security so its very difficult for anyone to just walk into the facility. The club thrives on donations and support from foundations and community projects, as a registered children's charity it needs all the help it can get.
With over 900 children a week attending the club it has become very popular, but despite its popularity, it’s quality coaching structure and unity has been unaffected. There are constantly children wanting to join.
We are about teaching children the art of gymnastics along with discipline & respect, it all goes hand in hand for such an exciting and adventurous sport. Badges, Certificates, Rosettes, Competitions are all reachable for every single child that attends the club.
We accept all children from all backgrounds, with only the stipulation that they and their parents must abide by the club's rules and regulations. These are in place to protect every aspect of the Charity and it's children.
This club has won award after award, with a double for 2006 (top sports club for Bucks County), we take pride on offering what we feel parents and children want and that is a safe, well structured, friendly place for children to attend.
We are aware we can't please all the people all the time but we do out utmost to please most of the people most of the time. What can be assured is the club has a heartbeat, a family feel, to it and a freindlyness that cant be made, or manufactured or reproduced. Alan has a passion for the club to be good and Donna has that same passion on making sure all the things he misses are equally as good, between the two of them the club is second to none.
The staff and the coaches at the club have helped create the club into what it is today, its the team work of everyone that make the clubs so warm.
A place where they can learn the foundation sport of all sports...........and that is of course Gymnastics !!
So we welcome you all.
