San Diego in July for some of top squad
San Diego Gymnastics club has welcomed Arabian in a summer visit where upon the girls will train all week and finish with a competition before the trip home.
Gymnasts Sam, Bex, Jess and Lucy are booked to make the grueling trip which is a flight to Houston Texas then on to San Diego, California. Return trip will be again via Texas.
The ten day round trip to the very hot state of southern California is set to be without most of the younger squad girls as they move up to secondary school and to miss their last week with friends and goodbyes is too much of a clash. The four girls are all at senior school so for them all is fine.
The trip and the girls set to go on it will be confirmed by the end of this week.
The girls will stay in a nearby Hotel and already the club is very pleased that the girls are coming over.
" The girls always want me to try and find somewhere to train and compete and this has been particularly hard for me to mastermind with the new move taking over my life for 3 months. But we are excited that we have been invited and the fact it's California has an extra spice about it for the girls.
These girls work hard all year round and if i can find places in the world for them to take their sport then I am very pleased. Its important they make the most from the sport in what clearly has a shelf life. I think the fantastic support these girls get from their very supportive parents is also out of this world, without the parents these trips would fail to materialize.
It looks like a small party this time which will be just great from my point of view, eleven to Texas last year was nerve racking I have to say, but then they were all just superb girls and I respect each of them for their impeccable presence"
Fund raising will start with speed, speed as in doing a sponsored bounce for two hours non stop. The sponsored bounce will be open to anyone who wants to help the girls on the trip. Coaches and parents are requested to take part as well. Date set is 4-30pm Saturday 13th at Arabian GC
