18 gymnasts entertained in the shadows of Windsor Castle

18 top gymnasts from the club were requested to display their talents in a private corporate event in the shadows of Windsor castle on Sunday.

The gymnasts were all taken by mini Bus to the event amid awful rain but when they arrived at the location set out in the grounds of  as stately home it was dry apart from the mud traced car tracks and the lying pools of water that had yet to be soaked up.

Nevertheless the gymnast warmed up and aquainted themselves with the venue which was excellently set out with just about everything you could think of.

The girls performed a short dance which will be seen in USA by 8 of the girls who fly out on Sunday.

They then turned on the dynamic trampette displays with double twisting somersaults and amazing acrobatic sequences which needed precise timings as they flew over each other in different poses.
Their second show was the Balance beam where Bex Whatmore and Lucy Johnston both performed high level stuff with good back up from some of the other girls.

Then they dressed up and performed their British Roses title of group floor champions 2012, but on grass....and it was just as good as on their sprung floor. Wendy Kitching had done a great job in adapting it to a grass surface....

the girls all performed well in the Sun ...yes it was sunny!!

The event organiser after they had completed their last routine then allowed the gymnasts to go on the other vents within the set up, a climbing wall horse riding , races and all kinds of good things for the girls to enjoy. So although a massive long day the girls had  a superb time including a good old sing song on the bus back which Coach Louisa and head coach Al listened too with a sympathetic ear...maybe the singing will come as they age.....

Pictured is Millie Barnes who got caught up with well wishers on the wrong side of the fence....also some pictures below taken on the day, by Mr Paul.
